Wild Mushroom Celebration 2018

Chanterelle and Walla Walla Sweet Gallette

 

For nearly two decades, we have hosted a Wild Mushroom Celebration on the Long Beach Peninsula. Because we can never accurately predict exactly when the bounty of the wild mushroom harvest will occur, we launched the event so that it covered an expanse of days from October 1st to November 15th. It takes just the right amount of sunshine and rain and cooling fall temperatures to produce the bounty of wild mushrooms for which we are known. David and Laurie are founders of the event and while they no longer participate via their restaurant (which has been passed onto new operators, Tiffany and Brady Turner at the Shelburne Restaurant & Pub) they do continue to forage, themselves and to promote the consumption and enjoyment of the fantastic fungi that grow here.
